Elon Musk offers to buy Twitter
Elon Musk, CEO of electric carmaker Tesla, has offered to buy full ownership of the microblogging platform
Twitter after buying the shares. He also considers himself worthy of being
'exposed' to the 'extraordinary potential' of social media.
He wants to take full
ownership of Twitter for 41 billion. However, he also threatened if the Twitter
authorities did not agree to his proposal. He said that if he did not agree to
the offer, he would consider giving up the 9.2% share of Twitter he bought.
Elon Musk said Twitter could
be a medium for free expression around the world. And being able to express
one's opinion freely is the beauty of true democracy. This is what I believe,
Elon Musk. So I invested in it on Twitter.
"Directly following
placing assets into Twitter, I comprehended that at present the association
can't upgrade its social prerequisites," he said. So it needs to be
completely transformed into a private company. Twitter has tremendous potential;
I will expose it. Added Elon Musk.
Earlier, after buying the
shares, Elon Musk was invited to join the board of Twitter by the company's CEO
Parag Agarwal. Elon Musk, however, rejected the offer. Agarwal then said that
even though he did not participate in, the board, his company took opinions on
important issues of shareholders.
