launched in the United States. The space technology company SpaceX owned by
Elon Musk is going to bring this service to the market jointly with the US
mobile service provider T-Mobile. T-Mobile's customers will get with this
service with the help of SpaceX's Starlink satellite.
On Thursday, August 25, Elon Musk and T-Mobile President
Mike Sievert announced the launch of a satellite-based mobile phone service at
an event held at SpaceX's launch center in Texas, USA.
According to their announcement, T-Mobile will provide
satellite mobile phones to its customers in the United States with the help of
Elon Musk-owned SpaceX's Starlink satellite. Through this, T-Mobile customers
can directly communicate with other customers with the help of SpaceX's
satellites in Earth's orbit through their mobile phones.
As a result, T mobile users can easily keep in touch with
the rest of the world, even from remote or sparsely populated areas such as the
sea or the desert.
The most convenient thing about this technology is that
customers don't have to buy any additional device to get this service. Current
technology, mobile phone or smartphone, is enough for this communication. For
now, only text messages and pictures can be sent in this technology. However,
very soon, customers will get the facility of direct video call through
Starlink's second generation satellite.
In this regard, Elon Musk said that Starlink's second
generation satellites can be used to talk directly to mobile phones. You can
contact directly through the phone currently in hand. However, at present, such
bandwidth is not yet connected to Starlink's terminals. Still, it can be used
to send text messages and pictures. Even short video messages can be sent if
the network is not congested. That means there is no more dead zone in the
world for your mobile phone.
Elon Musk said that very soon SpaceX is going to launch the
next generation Starlink satellites through the next generation Starship
rocket. A large antenna will be attached to this satellite. Which can directly
connect the mobile phones on the T-Mobile network. As a result, it will be
possible to make direct video calls easily from there. Tesla's electric car
will also be connected to a SpaceX satellite. Basically, it will be very useful
to stay in touch in areas where there is no mobile phone network coverage.
Musk founded SpaceX's Starlink with the aim of providing
high-speed internet services to users in remote areas beyond the reach of
conventional mobile networks. The company has placed about 3,000 artificial
satellites in low Earth orbit in space.
Starlink's satellites will use T-Mobile's midland spectrum
as a network. With this technology, there is literally no place outside the
network in the United States. It is believed that this technology will spread
all over the world very soon. This technology could also make the traditional
satellite phone concept obsolete.
